At Kinvia, we have been deeply engaged in reflecting on our way forward. As the world evolves, we must too. Guided by the insights and teachings of those we work alongside, we commit to learning, adapting, and challenging our own long-entrenched ways.
As we journey together into a healthier future, we are proud to launch our 2024-2034 Strategic Directions, named The Path to Kinvia.
A PATH FORWARD

Amina and her children, Ghana
Over 20 months, supported by a Strategic Planning Taskforce co-chaired by our Board Chair and our President & CEO, we undertook an intensive, participatory process with a wide variety of collaborators to build our strategic directions. We prioritized the input of our community partners in Bolivia, Ethiopia, Ghana, Uganda, and Indigenous communities in Canada, to ensure that their voices were at the center of this important work.
We examined global realities and coming changes; sought expert perspectives on advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, reconciliation, anti-racism and anti-oppression efforts. We listened carefully to individuals who would be most impacted by our decisions. We explored scores of fundamental questions, such as Why do we exist? and What do our goals mean for Indigenous peoples and international communities?
And we searched for a word to capture the essence of our journey, our interconnectivity, and our commitment to growth and impact—ultimately creating a word by merging "kin" and "via."
OUR STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
Our four strategic priorities—Transform, Strengthen, Engage, and Advocate—outline the key ways we aim to achieve long-term results focused on children, youth, and their communities over the next ten years. Each is supported by specific goals, objectives, and actions that uphold our commitment to rejecting oppressive hierarchies and colonialist ideologies as we continue to evolve and learn.

As the world has evolved over the years, we have deepened our commitment to learning, adapting, and challenging our own long-entrenched ways.
We're grateful to all those whose teachings and insights have informed and guided this journey. Their input gave rise to our commitment to evolve the organization to what it should and must be: decolonized, anti-racist, and anti-oppressive. An organization whose mission, vision, and values reflect the understanding that we are all equal, and all kin. An organization that pursues its strategic objectives via openness, inclusivity, advocacy, and engagement.
