Policies & Compliance

Integrity Counts

Kinvia is committed to maintaining the highest standards of conduct and ethical behavior and encourages anyone with serious concerns about any aspect of Kinvia's operations, programs, or services to come forward. The earlier a concern is raised, the easier it is to take action. You can submit your concerns through the reporting platform, Integrity Counts.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING POLICY

Kinvia is steadfast in its commitment to child safeguarding. Kinvia is dedicated to the safety and protection of children in every aspect of its work, across all regions and countries. We firmly believe that every child has an inherent right to safety, and that the protection of children is a shared responsibility that extends to both national and international communities.

In alignment with international and national frameworks, laws, and standards, Kinvia is committed to upholding and respecting the principles that govern child safeguarding. We recognize that our Partnering organizations, the recipients of Kinvia funding, bear both a legal and ethical duty to safeguard children and prevent child abuse. We expect all Partnering organizations to adhere to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) for child safeguarding. This policy applies to all Kinvia representatives and any other person who represents or acts on behalf of Kinvia.

Accessibility

Kinvia’s Statement of Commitment to Accessibility

Kinvia is committed to creating a welcoming, supportive and inclusive environment that embraces difference. Guided by the four core principles of dignity, independence, integration and equal opportunity, we believe in giving all people the same opportunity to access our goods and services in a manner that respects their dignity and independence.

Kinvia is committed to using every effort to ensure that we meet the needs of people with disabilities, in a timely manner, through the implementation of policies and by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).

We will incorporate accessibility legislation into our policies, procedures, equipment requirements, training, and best practices. We will review these policies and practices as organizational changes occur to ensure ongoing compliance.

Providing an accessible and barrier-free environment is a shared effort and, as an organization, we are committed to working with the necessary parties to make accessibility a reality for all.

Kinvia’s Whistleblower Policy provides direction to all current and former directors, officers, employees, contractors, consultants, agents, volunteers, donors, partners and clients of Kinvia and community members (“stakeholders”) regarding the communication of concerns about questionable or illegal practices or activities or suspected questionable or illegal practices or activities concerning Kinvia.

Donation Policy

In the event that the funds raised exceed the financial needs of the programs you are supporting, your contribution will be used for related efforts to support children and their families.

Refund Policy

Donations are non-refundable.

Should an error be made in the amount of any donation, the donor has 10 business days in which to notify Kinvia of the error. All requests for refunds must be made in writing by email to contact@kinvia.ca. The request should have the details of the initial donation including the date, amount, name of the donor, and the nature of the error.

Under exceptional circumstances CRA suggests that a charity may, in order to retain the goodwill of the donor, offer to transfer the gift to another qualified donee instead of returning it.

Preventing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy

Recognizing that sexual exploitation and sexual abuse violate universally recognized international legal norms and standards and, aligned with Canada’s commitment to the delivery of international assistance grounded in a human rights framework, Kinvia will make publicly available our Preventing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Policy.
